Journey 2: The Mysterious Island

Parents Note: PG Rating

Rating is for: Name Calling (stupid, grandma, chicken) And for some intense action scenes involving (spoiler alert) A big lizard, bees, and an electric eel. Among other creatures. IE The “Mysterious Island”

Okay, I’m not going to lie I was not a fan of the first film, it was cheesy the graphics were lame and well lets face it Brendan Fraser should have stopped acting after the Mummy part 7.              I have to say that I really enjoyed this film. An older Shawn played by Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson, gives a much better performance than the 1st movie. Also with the addition of “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson gives it a much better action feel. There are a ton of laughs and the much improved graphics are sure to please. Even though this movie was filmed for 3D you still can feel much of the intended pop out action. Minus the $4 surcharge, and headache of course! A clean, fun, family film!

In my opinion I give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars!

THIS MEAN WAR

Parents Note: PG-13 Rating

Rating is for: Action, mild violence, a hand full of swearing, and a some sexual jokes.

This movie has something for guys and for the ladies. It is full of non stop action as Tom Hardy and Chris Pine who work for the CIA, accidentally fall for the same girl. They will stop at nothing and I mean nothing to ruin the other guys chance to win her heart.

In my opinion I give it a 3 out 5 stars!

Movie Ratings - What do they mean?

G - General Audience. All ages admitted. This signifies that the film rated contains nothing most parents will consider offensive for even their youngest children to see or hear. Nudity, sex scenes, and scenes of drug use are absent; violence is minimal; snippets of dialogue may go beyond polite conversation but do not go beyond common everyday expressions.

PG - Parental Guidance Suggested. Some material may not be suitable for children. This signifies that the film rated may contain some material parents might not like to expose to their young children - material that will clearly need to be examined or inquired about before children are allowed to attend the film. Explicit sex scenes and scenes of drug use are absent; nudity, if present, is seen only briefly, horror and violence do not exceed moderate levels.

PG13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. This signifies that the film rated may be inappropriate for pre-teens. Parents should be especially careful about letting their younger children attend. Rough or persistent violence is absent; sexually-oriented nudity is generally absent; some scenes of drug use may be seen; one use of the harsher sexually derived words may be heard.

R - Restricted-Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian (age varies in some locations). This signifies that the rating board has concluded that the film rated contains some adult material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their children to see it. An R may be assigned due to, among other things, a film's use of language, theme, violence, sex or its portrayal of drug use.

NC17 - No One 17 and Under Admitted. This signifies that the rating board believes that most American parents would feel that the film is patently adult and that children age 17 and under should not be admitted to it. The film may contain explicit sex scenes, an accumulation of sexually-oriented language, or scenes of excessive violence. The NC-17 designation does not, however, signify that the rated film is obscene or pornography.
